College Child Development
In College Child Development, the students expand on their knowledge from their
Child Development course. This course provides an in-depth study of the five
periods of childhood including prenatal development through adolescence. Fieldwork at a
local Elementary school or day care center will be incorporated when possible. Students explore current child development research and findings. Students will explore learning disabilities and physical disabilities that children may have and how to handle working with children with special needs.
Students who wish to do so can receive 3 college credits from
LIU (Long Island University) and can be transferred to most Colleges/Universities.
College Child Development is beneficial for any student
who wishes to pursue a career in teaching, child care, parenting, nursing,
administrators in education, as well as many other careers.
